A floral survey was made of Mont Rigaud located in Vaudreuil County on the south shore of the Ottawa River in Quebec. Both field collections on the mountains and herbarium searches of the Herbier Marie-Victorin at the Université de Montréal, the McGill University Herbarium and the École Normale de Saint-Viateur Herbarium from Rigaud provided the basis for the checklist of vascular plants.

Description du site

Mont Rigaud, located near the confluence of the Ottawa and St.Lawrence Rivers, is the northwest corner of Vaudreuil County, in the extreme southwest of Quebec. The boundaries of the study correspond roughly to longitude 74° 14'W to 74° 21'W and latitude 45° 25' N to 45° 29'N.

Habitat

Mont Rigaud is within a relatively small area, the Maple-Hickory zone, which is confined to the valleys of the south-west Quebec.***milieu péri-urbain***
